Michelle Obama ‘monkey pic’ on Google
p2pnet news view P2P | Politics:- What do Dutch Freedom Party leader Geert Wilder and US presidential wife Michelle Obama have in common?
Oh, and her husband, Barack?
They’ve all been compared to monkeys.
The Wilder version was one of almost 150 lampoons signed by Turkish hacker aLpTurkTegin, said p2pnet August.
Today, when you enter Michelle Obama in Google Images, you don’t get the pic on the right: that comes from dma.org.
Nope. Instead, what you see is the page below. Or you did at 6:18 am Pacific on November 25, 2009.
Can you spot the image that’s causing all the trouble?

Says Gargle, “Sometimes Google search results from the Internet can include disturbing content, even from innocuous queries. We assure you that the views expressed by such sites are not in any way endorsed by Google.”
It adds, “We apologize if you’ve had an upsetting experience using Google. We hope you understand our position regarding offensive results.”
And president Obama?
“The New York Post is apologizing for a cartoon that critics say links President Barack Obama to a raging chimpanzee shot dead by police in Connecticut,” said MSNBC in February going on, “But the newspaper also says the image was exploited by its longtime antagonists.
“After two days of protests, the paper posted an editorial on its Web site Thursday saying the cartoon was meant to mock the federal economic stimulus bill, but ‘to those who were offended by the image, we apologize’.”
Says the Guardian of the latest furor »»»
The image, which has been appearing at the top of search results when the words “Michelle Obama” are put into Google Images, was posted on a blog called Hot Girls, which is hosted by the Google-owned blog service, Blogger.
Hot Girls’ owner has today removed the image, which appears to have originally been put up with a blog post on 21 October last year, and displayed an apology in Chinese with a very loose English translation.
Google had refused to remove the offensive image from its picture search listings, despite complaints that it is racist, instead opting to run an ad next to it explaining its policy on how search engine results work.
A spokesman for Google said that the Hot Girls blog and image may still temporarily appear when some users make Google Images searches but that it was coming out of the search engine’s indexing system.
No need to stay tuned.

Seems to me there was a similar comparison photo between George Bush and a Chimpanzee several years ago; nobody raised any kind of stink over that………………..
November 25th, 2009 at 1:47 pm
Thats because the George Bush comparison was not a race hate thing, as this is – you complete blundering buffoon.

Since human are a type of monkey it is always easy to see a resemblance between any human and any other primate and particularly with chimps since they are one of their closest cousin.
The thing that always amaze me is the constant firm believe that most human carry about the supposed superiority of their specie which of course is unfounded. There is nothing special about being a human.
Actually there is some human who are much less than monkeys such as the entertainment executives and lawyers who rank as tapeworm on the evolutionary scale and should be discarded as a failure of evolution.

I like Michelle Obama I think that she is pretty and these two are our best looking presidential couple we ever have.
This being say I am made at Obama for putting so many entertainment corporate parasites in it’s administration.
What about it’s promise to fight corporate lobbyists who corrupt our government?
If it does not fire them, someone has to clean the place of these parasites for us.

Public figures are always going to be at risk for this type of attack. The important thing to me is that Michelle Obama, whom I admire as an accomplished person, probably knows that the best way to react is to not react … unlike my former (thank goodness) governor, who by now would be casting herself all over the media as a poor little victim. (The poor little victims are her kids, who don’t seem to get any kind of school or social life at home … it’s all about Mom.)

Don’t forget Abraham Lincoln on that list (in addition to Bush, which somebody else pointed out).

“Thats because the George Bush comparison was not a race hate thing, as this is â you complete blundering buffoon.”
Beside nobody never compared any First Lady with a monkey until now.

It seems that it is fine to say derogatory things or create horrendous pictures of anyone in the Republican Party, but it the same thing is done with anyone the Democratic Party, then it becomes tasteless and offensive. It’s alright for Kanye West to say George Bush hates black people on national television, but it is not ok to say anything offensive of the Democratic Party. People should be glad this is not the time period of President Johnson when Ertha Kit made a derogatory remark about Lady Bird Johnson and ended her career. What’s fair play, is fair play and everyone from all fronts need to stop with this sensitivity crap and political correctness crap and either apply retribution to all offenders or none at all and just shut the hell up and go away.

Where was all the uproar when pictures of President Bush surfaced everywhere on the Internet portrayed as Hitler or a Nazi sympathizer? When folks from a particular side of the political isle routinely made outrageous commentary towards President Bush, where were you? (and you know who YOU are). When he was outrightly accused of purposely trying to kill black citizens after Katrina, how many of you people stood up screamed foul? It’s always the same with the far left, an endless broken record of worn-out mantra and exceptions. At least be intellectually honest and admit the obvious double standard.
Freaking liberal hypocrites. Dirty, rotten, partisan, hateful liberal hypocrites.
5% of our population describe themselves as very liberal, 5 freaking percent. 16% are self-described as liberal. I’ve heard of minority rights and protection, but aren’t we going a bit far?

AlaskaLady, as another resident of this fine state I wish to remind the readers here that you do not in any fashion represent the typical views of our residents. Anyone who witnessed the hatchet job you and others like you put over on Sarah Palin and has an ounce of integrity would immediate recognize that she is nobody’s victim or nobody’s fool. Your fact-less characterization of our former Governor does speaks volumes about you however. If you had spent even one day in that partisan meat-grinder we refer to as the mainstream press receiving the kind of brutal and out-of-bounds coverage that she did, I suspect you would be singing a different song, but maybe I am overestimating you.

Why should the blog owner remove this just because of a little pressure? Censorship much?
Too bad it was removed.
Why must everything be about race? People have compared other presidents to monkeys, hitler, etc etc in the past, but as soon as you do it to someone who’s black, its racist? You must be the racist for thinking in black and white, and not them just as people.

Michelle Obama could use a few instructions on how to act like the first lady of the USA. I don’t want or need to see her arms! I’d like her to show the people of the United States that she ..loves this country and all it’s people. … Stand beside her husband and help him do his job.!

Condi Rice is an intelligent, beautiful black woman. There was a cartoon of her as a little parrot type bird and she was drawn with very large lips. I barely heard about this. Where was Jesse? Where was Al?

it happened to Bush now it’s happening to the Obamas. Lets see what they do, hopefully not ask google to go in censorship mode like a haitian dictatorship. glad the image is there to echo popular hits and show Michelle’s salient ressemblance to monkeys to those who have not noticed. The woman is impopular anyway so who cares. 3 more years of shame
