‘We Want Three Strikes!’ Fox

p2pnet news view Politics | Movies:- Jim Gianopulos (right), the man who runs Fux Filmed Entertainment, wants America to “pass a law similar to France’s ‘three strikes’ rule that would allow a judge to order Internet service providers to disconnect users who download copyrighted material,” says ContactMusic.

Um, Jim,  the US already has a very substantial stake the 3 strikes bidniz plan. However, Hollywood, the American end, and the Big 4 music labels from France, Japan, the UK and US, failed miserably the first time they tried to launch it in the States

Now they’re only waiting to see how how much they can get away with in Europe before trying again, ordering the Obama administration put the Three Strikes effort into effect in the US.

“The British government has also signaled that it is ready to pass a three-strikes law as well,” says the story, quoting him.

Er, Jim, actually, the UK is having serious problems with that.

“If we [the U.S.] can do that, it would be a big victory against piracy,” ContactMusic has him declaring.

Um, Jim …

  4. Robert Says:

    Doesn’t this guy get it?

If we’re off the net and we don’t care for their digital cable/satellite crap, how’s anyone going to watch them (not that anyone would)?

That’s right, 3-strikes and we don’t watch/view — means no advertising revenue – means BYE BYE Fox!

  5. Reader's Write Says:

There is a world wide conspiracy attacking our democracies right now.

Unfortunately for the conspirators we know who they are and what to do about this.

If I was them I would be very concerned at the moment because frankly I don’t believe that what they are trying to do is worth the risks.

But hey! This is how the dinosaurs got probably extinct. They might have put a 3 strikes law against asteroids but after the first strike they were gone.

Go ahead! spend millions of dollars corrupting our governments for a 3 strikes laws world wide and the next time there is a tea party people will bring their guns.

    Just a though.

  6. RIAA Hater Says:

    Burn in hell, Jim Gianopulos.
