Microsoft goes to India
p2pnet.net News:- Microsoft Research, Microsoft’s basic research arm, says it has “selected” Bangalore, India, for its third research facility outside the US.
Microsoft Research Lab India Private Ltd will open in January 2005 and will employ about two dozen scientists, interns and support staff in the first year, says Microsoft.
The new lab will investigate multilingual systems, technologies for emerging markets, geographical information systems and sensor networks.
The other ‘outside’ labs are in Cambridge, England and Beijing, China.
