Berners-Lee returns to UK
p2pnet.net News - Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the man who invented the World Wide Web, is going home to England where he’s been appointed a professor at Southampton University.
He’ll become chair of computer science at the university’s School of Electronics and Computer Science, says This is Southampton.
"Many of the staff in the school have worked with him on the development of the World Wide Web over many years, and we are now closely involved with the evolution of the Semantic Web, which is Tim’s vision for the future of the Web," professor Wendy Hall, head of the school of electronics and computer science, is quoted as saying.
Southampton university was the first to award Sir Tim, born in London, an honorary degree in 1996.

Not true. He has accepted a professorship at Southampton, but he is not returning to the UK.
