Microsoft Family Guy W7 ads
p2pnet news view | Advertising:- Why is everyone so surprised?
“Microsoft’s posted the clips from Family Guy’s killed hackathon that would’ve shilled for Windows 7, and they’re even more brain-liquefyingly stupid than I thought,” says Gizmodo.
“Just watch, but when your brains leak out your ears, don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
Yeh. But that’s par for the course.
Remember the Microsoft campaign starring Bill Gates and comedian Jerry Seinfeld?
“It`s something to do with a shoe store and tight fits and the Shoe Circus Clown Club,” said p2pnet. “Oh, and Gates adjusting his pants.”
Total disaster.
Then there was the Microsoft anti-Apple ad a couple of weeks later.
The strategy to use the Apple attack as the basis for a counterstrike is typical for the agency behind the campaign, Crispin Porter & Bogusky, said the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Crispin Porter, part of MDC Partners, relishes efforts to transform perceived negatives into positives.
Total disaster. The ‘positives’ all went to Apple. For free.

Says Neowin, “Before the launch of Windows 7, Microsoft teamed up with Fox to air a Family Guy episode to help create more buzz about the product prior to the launch. Not long after announcing the deal Microsoft pulled support for the episode because of “riffs on deaf people, the Holocaust, feminine hygiene and incest”.
So —- why is everyone so surprised?

I like the play button right in front of Stewie’s nose, replacing it. Gives his face more definition.

Why didn’t you post “Spelling Bee?” It’s the only one that’s actually funny.
