However, this practice is only possible because the average person is too ignorant and/or apathetic about the issues surrounding their rights to pressure their elected representatives in Ottawa. “so is anyone making sure the politicians know these things? Probably another million or two will be syphoned by SOCAN and crew for their operations. Then the final distributions are determined by surveys of radio play time and store sales ... as if the songs on the radio are the ones being pirated ...so that the artists who benefit from this are the established players.
