Send Mark ‘Facebook’ Zuckerberg a message
p2pnet news view P2P | Advertising:- “Not the Mark Zuckerberg you were looking for?” asks the caption to the pic on the right. “Search more …”
But no need. Because thanks to Fa$ebook’s new (not) privacy updates, he’s that Zuckerberg.
The social advertising site’s Main Man.
“It has been a great year for making the world more open and connected,” said Mark baby in an open letter.
But, “Seeing ‘open and connected’ in the same sentence as Zuckerberg was something of an oxymoron,” p2pnet observed.
And, “The social networking site has rightly been criticized for its confusing privacy settings, most notably in a must-read report by the Canadian Privacy Commissioner issued in July and most recently by a Norwegian consumer protection agency,” said the EFF’s Kevin Bankston in Deep Links, recently, going on >>>
Unfortunately, several of the claimed privacy “improvements” have created new and serious privacy problems for users of the popular social network service.
The new changes are intended to simplify Facebook’s notoriously complex privacy settings and, in the words of today’s privacy announcement to all Facebook users, “give you more control of your information.” But do all of the changes really give Facebook users more control over their information? EFF took a close look at the changes to figure out which ones are for the better — and which ones are for the worse.
Our conclusion? These new “privacy” changes are clearly intended to push Facebook users to publicly share even more information than before. Even worse, the changes will actually reduce the amount of control that users have over some of their personal data.
Under the new (not) privacy settings, we learn Zuckerberg likes Lady GaGa, Firefox and sushi.
He’s also a fan of Mark Zuckerberg and when he lists Fa$ebook as his employer, under ‘descriptions’ he says, “we make revolutionary things”.
Not only but also, he and I have four friends in common! Yay!
But, “The implications of Facebook’s recent privacy rollback will likely take months to reveal themselves,” says notes Valleywag, and, “it’s already clear they go beyond Mark Zuckerberg’s stash of intimate pics; we’re already starting to learn new things about Hollywood celebrities.”
Like?
Well, Angelina Jolie has just 27 Facebook friends, and Will Smith is a member of Fa$ebook’s Jesus Daily which apparently posts bible quotes every morning, even though he’s also “made repeated donations to groups affiliated with the Church of Scientology; echoes the cult’s ’spiritual physics’ rhetoric; has set up a middle school staffed with Scientologists; and has said Scientology is filled ‘brilliant and revolutionary‘ ideas.”
PS – And for the first time, you can nowe send a message to Zuckerberg. As Well as Will, Angelina, Brad, etc and so on.
Now you know.
