Liberals delete Harper assassination pic

p2pnet news view P2P | Politics:- “A note to all viewers,” says a Liberal Party Choose our photo challenge winner post, going on >>>

The photos here are created by visitors to our website, and do not always reflect the views of the Liberal Party of Canada.  Though we continue to screen submissions before posting, we have removed certain images that may have been offensive to some viewers.

We apologize for any offence these images may have caused, and continue to strive to present a progressive and dynamic web experience for our site visitors.

One of the “certain images” features beloved Canadian prime minister George W. Harper.

“The photo substitutes the head of the prime minister for that of Lee Harvey Oswald in the famous black-and-white photo that shows Oswald being shot by Jack Ruby in 1963. Oswald had recently been arrested for shooting then-U.S. president John F. Kennedy,” says the National Post.

“How can we trust the Liberals any more when their Photoshop skills are so poor?” – wonders Exgeordie in a comment to the story. “This kind of sloppy cut and paste gives all graphic artists a bad name.”

But, “It’s a pity this isn’t the United States,” says quadibloc. “The Liberal Party would soon learn that this sort of thing is no laughing matter, as the authorities there take threats on the life of the President very seriously.”

    It’s NOT a pity this isn’t the US. The fact that we don’t jump to conclusions, shoot first and ask questions later is a GOOD THING!

  2. Reader's Write Says:

    In the US practically no one even knows who Harper is.

  3. Pat Quinn Says:

    The photoshop image of Mr. Harper as oswald is beneath contempt and all those involved should be ashamed and discraced by this. Personnally I am embrassed to live in a country where a “contest” of this type is sponsered by a political party who are the official opposition and an integral part of the politics of the country. Shame on all Liberals. This speaks volumes of their total disregard for anything outside the scope of thinking they can do anything they want. Public apologies should start with the Prime Minister, his party, the voters, the public domain and then to people of the US.
    Were no copyright laws broken by this so called contest?

    @Pat:

    You talk like the Liberals are the only ones that ever disrespect the People with contemptable behaviour.

    Sadly, the Conservatives and the NDP also make “negative promotion” a part of standard Canadian political operating procedure. They ALL do it, ALL the time. They assassinate each other’s character constantly, and then all go out a buy each other a beer, all the time laughing about how half of the People swallow it all up, and how the People are powerless to make them answer for anything.

    Pointing fingers at any one party is just stupid, and demonstrates the same mindset they’ve been foisting on you, and why they do it.

    As for copyright being a factor here, that certainly sounds like one of today’s classic corporate-centric thoughts. Don’t get me started on that one.

    I can’t believe there are actually people defending a photo of our Prime Minister being assassinated. Typical liberals. This contest was childish and stupid to begin with, but this pictures is going way over the line and should be taken seriously. The Conservatives go up in the polls and the liberals start foaming at the mouth. Showing such vile disrespect to the leader of our country is degrading to our country. If it were the other way around, the liberals would be screaming bloody murder! Hypocrites, each and every one.
