Blogger leaked FBI secrets
p2pnet news view | Security:- Blogger Shamai Kedem Leibowitz, aka Samuel Shamai Leibowitz, an Ex-FBI contractor, has admitted passing secret documents centering on US intelligence activities to another blogger who then published them online, says the Department of Justice.
The DoJ doesn’t say who the second blogger was.
From January 2009 through August 2009, Leibowitz worked for the FBI as a contract linguist in Calverton, Maryland, it says, going on >>>
As part of his official duties, Leibowitz held a top secret security clearance and had lawful access to classified documents and information relating to the communication intelligence activities of the United States.
In April 2009, according to the plea agreement, Leibowitz knowingly and willfully caused five documents that were classified at the secret level and which contained classified information relating to the communication intelligence activities of the United States, to be furnished to a person not entitled to receive such information.
The recipient was the host of a public blog available to anyone with access to the Internet. The recipient then published on the blog information derived from the classified documents provided by Leibowitz.
He’s a grandson to Yeshayahu Leibowitz, “the Orthodox Israeli philosopher who spoke out against Israeli’s occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip,” says the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
“Leibowitz also has a past as a far-left Israeli peace activist who favored a one-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” it says.
Under a plea agreement, “the government and Leibowitz have agreed that a term of 20 months in prison is the appropriate sentence in this case,” says the DoJ.
On his blog, Pursuing Justice, Leibowitz, 39, gives as his favourite quote:

I really like this Shamai Leibowitz and puting him in jail for that is unconsionable. This type of thing anger a lot of people and definitivly induce danger and weaken our democracy. Not a pretty picture.
By the way advocating one-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not far left since Apartheid and Zionisms is not sustainable. It is the only solution. One secular government and one nation undivisible for the pursuit of happiness and justice for all with the freedom of religion. By agree or by crocks this is what will happen soon.
Since this is how it will end anyway so why not give up right now Zionists!

Leaking classified information is a crime and very dangerous. Communication intelligence activities are classified to keep the information and identities of agents out of the hands of other nations and organizations. Its called communication intelligence for a reason. There are times when information should not be made public. Once upon a time, not too long ago, releasing classified intelligence information was considered treason and punishable by execution.
