No you may NOT call your kid ‘Allah’

p2pnet news view | Off Topic:- A Swedish mum and dad wanted to call their newborn son Allah.

But No Way, ruled the Swedish Tax Authority (Skatteverket)

“According to the decision, Skatteverket does not approve ‘names that can give offence or be seen to cause discomfort for the bearer’,” says The Local.

But why not? Everyone would’ve called him Al ?!

That wasn’t it, though.

“Skatteverket legal expert Lars Tegenfeldt told The Local that devout members of the public might take offense to certain names with highly religious connotations,” says the story.

Jesus, however, is cool.

“Some religious names though, like Jesus, are normal,” says Tegenfeldt.

Is this where there was controversy over a kid being named “Metallica”? Why anyone would want to name their kid either is beyond me, but shouldn’t this decision be left to the parents and not outsiders (esp. gov’t) to decide? As stupid as some people may be, I still believe it’s a decision that only the parent’s should decide. If the kid doesn’t like it he can always have it legally changed on his own later.

Even in democracies, freedom is becoming an ever more disintegrating thought everyday.

Because naming a kid “Allah” would probably cause muslims to riot in the streets, and a death sentence would probably be issued against the kid and his parents by the “religion of peace”…

Parents giving their children names such as “Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii” or “Adolf Hitler” are headed for some nasty surprises. Like having the state step in and (legally) kidnap their children.
