Beatles Gibson SG gets $570K

p2pnet.net OT News:- The Gibson SG guitar used by Beatles George Harrison from 1966 to 1969 and by John Lennon during the White Album sessions has been auctioned off for almost $570,000.

“George Harrison had given the Gibson guitar to Peter Ham – of the rock band Badfinger in 1969,” says the BBC.

“When Ham died in 1974, it was stored away by his brother and not rediscovered until the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame contacted him in preparation for a Badfinger retrospective in 2002.”

(Against that, a Tony Iommi SG went on eBay, yesterday, for a paltry $1,700 ; )

The Tony Iommi SG on eBay was not owned.or played by Tonny Iommi.Just a signature model.Worth $1700.If it was his I’m sure it would go for a lot more than that.
