Cisco buys Protego for $65M
p2pnet.net News:- Cisco Systems says it’s going to buy new security monitoring and threat management appliance firm Protego Networks for $65 million in cash.
Protego is a member of Cisco’s AVVID partner program and the two companies have been successfully working together to sell security products to customers, says Cisco, adding that the 38-member Protego team will be integrated into Cisco’s Security Technology Group.
The acquisition is expected to close by January, 2005.
