Normand Michaud sues Chatelaine

p2pnet news view | Freedom:- Normand Michaud is suing the French version of women’s magazine “Chatelaine” for $150,000 for running his photograph in “These Men Who Kill Their Wives.”

Michaud, of St. Jérôme, Quebec, says he “never killed his wife, never gave permission for his image to be used with the article and was never asked,” states the Montreal Gazette.

A teacher at the Marie-Victorin School Board, he describes himself as “dedicated to the cause of rehabilitating people with behavioral disorders”, says Courthouse News, going on:

“According to the lawsuit in Quebec Superior Court, Michaud entered into a contract with the production company Les Productions Point De Mire, also a defendant, to make a documentary called ‘Men In Distress’.”

Michaud says Point De Mire hired co-defendant Martine Doucet to photograph him for the documentary.

“He found out about the photo after his mother was flipping through the January 2009 French edition of the women’s magazine and spotted him,” says the Gazette, adding:

“She called him in tears, he said, saying the article said her son killed women. Michaud is recognizable in the photo, and looks troubled. His name is not used.”

Michaud says the article, written by  Goyer, “explores an unrelated documentary about men who kill their wives and children,” according to Courthouse News.

  1. Reader's Write Says:

St. Jérôme is definitively a weird city. The unemployment rate and poverty seem to be through the roof. Normand Michaud was running for some type of election and I believe that this is a plot organized by it’s political opponents that put him on the Chatelaine magazine as a women killer.

Moreover in an unrelated story there is this guy Jean Yves Dupuis a known writer who used to operate an online library “La Bibliothèque Electronique Du Québec” and who seem to have become paranoiac.

He is accusing the police of St. Jérôme as well as several businesses of crimes.

As far as I know the only crime comited by the police of St. Jérôme was to illegally repress a peaceful demonstration a little while a go.

But do there is more to this? “La Bibliothèque Electronique Du Québec” is now down.

What’s happened to Jean Yves Dupuis?

What the hell is going on in St. Jérôme?

  2. Reader's Write Says:

The amount is way too small. He should sue Chatelaine for a minimum of $15,000,000 or whatever the maximum amount is permitted by law.
