Yahoo real-time traffic service
p2pnet.net News:- Competition inspires innovation and it’s certainly doing so in the Search Engine world as the giants do battle with each other to come up with yet another ‘value added’.
Yahoo’s latest effort is to provide real-time traffic conditions.
“Using information from radio traffic reports, police scanners, embedded road sensors and traffic helicopters, Yahoo will warn motorists of construction and other delays along a planned route,” says the Associated Press, going on:
“In some cases, the new service will also provide weather advisories issued by state and local jurisdictions.”
But, the service won’t be available where it would be most useful: on cell phones and car navigation systems, Yahoo spokeswoman Terra Carmichael is quoted as saying.
