Is the iPad nigh?

p2pnet news view Products | Advertising:- Every time Steve Jobs breaks wind, it’s reported as a major event by the lamescream media.

Now “One week from today Apple is hosting what has easily become its most anticipated event since the original iPhone”, says CNet News.

So what’s the story about?

Nothing.

Literally.

Because that’s a “summary” of what CNet says it knows about what Apple plans to unveil at an “event” San Francisco January 27.

“But it’s plenty of fun to do some educated guessing about what they’re cooking up down in Cupertino”, it says.

The BBC, however, reckons Apple is “set to unveil a tablet-style computer”.

It quotes a Deloitte prediction that “Tens of millions” of tablet computers” will be sold in 2010.

“The keyboard and mouse-free devices are likely to be a top trend among consumers,” it says, and, “For every million net tablets sold there will be a corresponding impact on e-readers,” it has Jolyon Barker from Deloitte’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications department stating.

The report forecasts the tech trends for 2010 and describes tablets as “the Goldilocks of devices (not too big, not too small)”.
