Netcraft toolbar filters Google
p2pnet.net News:- Netcraft’s new anti-phishing toolbar is doing a great job, says the company.
In fact, it’s so good that it’s filtering “benign” sites including Google and Amazon, says Netcraft, going on:
“We have made an update to the toolbar which will propagate during the course of today.”
The toolbar uses Netcraft web site information databases to reveal attributes of each site users visit, including hosting location, country, longevity and popularity.
But it’s currently configured only for w2k and XP and although the company promises a Firefox version is on the way, it doesn’t say if the same will apply to Opera and other browsers.
The toolbar, “mobilizes the Netcraft community into a giant neighbourhood watch scheme to empower the most alert and experienced members to protect the vulnerable against fraud and phishing attacks,” says Netcraft.
