MS anti-spyware beta launch

p2pnet.net News:- "It’s new, it’s fresh, and it’s all good."

That’s how Microsoft describes its anti-spyware beta, slated for release on January 6, says Tom Warren on neowin.com, going on:

"Microsoft have just finished distributing an internal Beta 1 escrow build to internal beta testers. ‘Atlanta’ is the code-name for Microsoft’s rehashed GIANT Software Anti-Spyware."

You’ll recall that Bill and the Boyz recently bought the GIANT anti-spyware company and were planning to use its technology to guard MS users against spyware, “and other deceptive software”.

  1. Reader's Write Says:

So then who will guard us against MS spyware?

  2. Reader's Write Says:

Actually, malware from MS needs to be bough. |-p

So we need to convince stores to warn their customers of the serious legal and sociological consequences of using the MS products which all extensively use the legal trickery of forcing the user to comply with vague and far-reaching demands laid out in EULAs that are only shown AFTER you buy the product.

Just because MS makes you agree to their malware doesn’t mean it’s any better.

And let’s not pretend that all the registration and monitoring of “uses” is to prevend unauthorized use of their products. It’s about invasion of privacy for marketing and monetary concerns.

Maybe we could call those legalware or something.
