Online tv for $10 a month
p2pnet.net News:- A&E, Biography Channel and History Channel will soon be broadcasting over the Net following a deal with video-on-demand firm Akimbo Systems, winner of the "Best of" 2005 Consumer Electronics Show Innovations Award in the online/internet category.
"Akimbo will feature a wide variety of programs from A&E, The History Channel, and The Biography Channel," it says in a press release.
Akimbo’s "Queue and View" feature lets users choose programs for download to the player through a broadband-internet connection, and view them on their televisions.
It works with the Akimbo Player, a set-top box able to store up to 200 hours of video, and provides consumers with viewing controls such as pause, rewind and archive, says the firm,, adding:
"The Akimbo Player uses widely adopted technology for playback including Windows Media technologies for audio and video compression, and Windows Digital Rights Management."
The player costs $230, with $10 a month for the service.

So, are they going to force advertisements down you throats too?
Sounds likely of them to make you watch ads say every 10 minutes.
And obviously they’ll need personal information to link demographics with what you watch.
More of the same, really…
