Peer2Mail update
p2pnet.net News:- Ran Geva says he`s just finished another upgrade to his Peer2Mail application.
In case you`ve missed other posts on the subject, if you have a web mail account such as Gmail (Google Mail), Walla!, Yahoo, etc, you can use P2M to store files on it/them.
Geva’s app splits the file you want to share/store, zips and optionally encrypts it, and then sends the file segments one by one to your account.
When it’s uploaded all the file segments, you download them and use P2M to merge them into a complete file.
Cool. And it’s free,
Version 1.4 features mainly GUI improvement and important security fixes, Geva told p2pnet.
They include:
Password encryption changed – all account owners need to re-encrypt the password and update their friends about it. Backward compatibility exist and old password will still work with v.1.4. Note: old password aren’t safe anymore – please make sure you update them
Gmail security fix – no more trashing messages from the "more option" message, P2M doesn’t allow to view the messages – to download them just use the Auto Download tool
Fixed an Auto Download problem with XasaMail
P2M files are associated with Peer2Mail – double click on a P2M file to merge it
Segment lister now updated as the segments are downloaded, each segment downloaded is unchecked from the lister
Enhanced download window – Shows overall information about the progress, time, and data
Download/Upload information displayed on the system tray icon
Changed the main Icon of the program
