The embarrassments swirling around the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver?
Visitors and residents alike will have a Google SnoopSkidoo spying on them in probable defiance of Olympic rules.
Local homeless people are staging their own events.
And there’s even been a much-publicised tussle with Australian boxing kangaroo, to name but three.
Now a new dimension has been added.
“A Polish newspaper printed an article about the Vancouver Winter Olympics and our old friend Pedobear somehow ended up in a group shot with the official mascots,” says BuzzFeed, noting:
“He’s in good company; they all have those beady yearning eyes.”
[PedoBear is the oner on the extreme right with the finger pointing at him/it. The ridiculous-looking creature beside him/it is the real Vancouver mascot deal.]

Pedobear is a shorthand for saying, “You’re being creepy about a kid.” If anyone on 4chan posts a picture of a questionably young looking girl in a sexy pose, someone will inevitably reply with a pic of Pedobear. Many times, Pedobear is added to a picture to point out real-world sexualization of presexual kids, but it’s alternately shown as an acknowledgment of being inappropriately attracted to a child.

I just thought I’d add a small bit of information to this.
The bear shown above (known in the English speaking realms as “Pedo-Bear”), is actually from 2chan (an anonymous BBS server origionating in Japan, and what the infamous 4chan is loosely based on) with the name “Kuma—-” (based on the Japanese word “kuma” or Bear), and is one of the original ASCII characters made famous in the Japanese 2chan, and is often used to mock posts made within the BBS.
Kuma has experienced several mutations, most recently “anologuma” (Analog-kuma or Analog bear) in response to the TV Digitization mascot “Chidejika” (cross between Chideji or Terrestrial Digital Broadcasting and Shika or Deer), and continues to be used to mock the upcoming Digital Switchover in July 2011, in Japan.
