		<description>Note:  std map in the C++ Standard Template Library was not part of C++ until the ISO/IEC 14882-1998 standard was published in September of 1998.  It would, though, be correct to say that hash-based maps have existed in third-party C++ code and libraries for at least two decades.</description>
