@Logan:
Because everyone trades with the US and we know that if you refuse to do as they say, they suddenly have "trade problems" which conveniently hurt your country's economics by hitting certain trade sectors. In the case of Canada, that covers MANY sectors.

Plus I think our PM is more creative than we give him credit, I wouldn't be surprised if he's clever enough to play politics with the US in such a way that he develops control instead of the other way around (as it has been for some time).

"What I can’t understand is why all of the countries being pressured by the Kartels simply don’t take them to court in the Hague and have them charged with attempting to interfere with the internal politics of sovereign nations."

Good question.

Cheers!

What I can't understand is why all of the countries being pressured by the Kartels simply don't take them to court in the Hague and have them charged with attempting to interfere with the internal politics of sovereign nations. The Kartels have no legal authority to set or to demand policy as they are not governing bodies tho they seem to like to think that they are. If I were PM for Canada, I'd most certainly tell the whole bunch of them to take a flying leap off the highest cliff they could find cause they weren't gonna bully me and if any one of the clowns were to threaten sanctions to make sure that we complied then you have a case for threats being uttered again another actionable claim against them. The Kartels seem to think that they are invincible, well, in my mind this would be one way to shut them down legally.
