p2pnet.net News:- Just before Christmas we ran the Net’s first-ever Movie File Share Top Ten, based on statistics from Big Champagne.
As we said at the time, with the MPAA horning in on the RIAA’s action, trying to sue people into doing things the Hollywood way, we thought it would be interesting to see what’s going on with movie downloads in the US and globally.
Here’s the first movie File Share Top Ten for 2005, and it won’t be the last. In fact, it’ll now be a regular, p2pnet exclusive, end-of-the-week feature.
And we’ll also soon be re-vamping our music File Share Top Ten with numbers —– as well a chart for genres other than just rap ; )

As I has noted in this thread:

I think it would be a good idea to state which P2P network(s) this includes, also to have the word “estimated” in the box.
I also like the idea for this site to feature a regular ‘top ten’ list. Maybe software, books, anime, and other categories of downloads will someday get their own list.

So, this little research suggests that the USA is responsible for half the downloads worldwide? (check the stats and amounts of downloads) That is the biggest nonsense I have ever heared.
