Michael Powell quites FCC
p2pnet.net News:- "This is definitely site-worthy. Powell leaving the FCC. Joy of joys!"
So said Kevin Neveloff in an email to make sure we didn’t miss this significant event. Ahem.
"Federal Communications Commission chairman Michael Powell submitted his resignation and will leave in March, the FCC announced Friday," says a CNN Money item.
Replacements being considered include another Republican member of the commission, Kevin Martin, Becky Klein, a former head of the public utility commission in Texas, Patrick Wood III, the head of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and Michael Gallagher, head of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration in the Commerce Department, says the New York Times.
Rumours that a dark horse in the race is none other than Hollywood favourite senator Orrin ‘Terminator’ Hatch are not to be taken too seriously.
Powell’s next step is unknown.

We need Orrin Hatch; that would make for some good entertainment in the p2p world.
