Texas ISPs escape MPAA wrath
p2pnet.net News:- Two Web hosting companies based in Dallas, Texas were named in the MPAA’s (Motion Picture Association of America) attack on BitTorrent servers.
But they’ve apparently escaped unscathed.
The Planet Internet Services and Layered Technologies hosted sites and servers, "allegedly involved in the distribution of copyrighted content using the BitTorrent file distributing software," says theWHIR, going on:
"Neither The Planet or Layered, however, were named as defendants in civil cases brought against the operators of two Web sites in federal district court in Dallas. And neither case is said to indicate any wrongdoing by either hosting firm.
"The Planet was reportedly involved in hosting the TorrentBox site, while Layered was host to the Loki Torrent site".
theWHIR says it was told by The Planet that the company disabled TorrentBox’s ‘tracker’ server on December 15, "one day after receiving a complaint from the MPAA".
Layered says it’s, "working with both its client and the MPAA to provide information that has been requested," states the story.

If these MPAA attacks went to court, they’d lose. The sites don’t store any files, only links to them.
