New 64-bit IBM Linux server

p2pnet.net News:- IBM says it’s going up against HP and Sun entry-level UNIX and Linux systems with a new, low-priced IBM Power5 processor-based server running Linux.

The IBM eServer OpenPower 710 is a one- to two-way rack-mount system supporting Linux operating as distributed by both Red Hat and SUSE LINUX, says IBM.

The new server is meant for datacenter consolidation and enterprise-class scale-out growth, it states.
