Russia says No to anti-spam
p2pnet.net News:- Russia’s information technologies and communications minister Leonid Reiman says he’s against Net censorship.
And that, he declares, includes his decision not to adopt national spam control measures.
“I am against any kinds of filters and a special regime on the Internet,” he states, quoted by RIA Novosti. “The web is developing rapidly and our task is to support it.”
The law should, “contain a relevant section regulating relations between providers and consumers of information,” Reiman says, going on that his ministry is ready to render juridical assistance to solve the problem.
But he doesn’t support the introduction of “nationwide special measures” against spam, “and thus, the ministry will not introduce them,” says RIA Novosti, adding that the communications minister believes “international community decisions should be followed and technical solutions offered by software and hardware producers”.
Slightly less than a year ago, America was Number One on the Sophos list of the worst spamming nations, with Russia occupying the 28th slot.
