Yahoo unveils ‘on-the-fly’ search

p2pnet.net News:- Microsoft launches (re-launches?) its very own search service, backed by a multi-million-dollar marketing campaign.

Today, Yahoo has unveiled Y!Q ‘contextual’ search biled as “Related search results on-the-fly!”

This “First-of-its-kind contextual search technology” delivers “related search results at the point of inspiration – directly on the page you’re reading,” promises Yahoo.

“In each implementation, Y!Q uses the context to help bridge the gap between query and intent.”

But to use it you have to download a Y!Q DemoBar.

What will Google announce tomorrow?

Jeez, Louis ….

Something you think we should know? tips[at]p2pnet.net

You know, i am not quite sure if I am using Y!Q the right way. I just dont understand how it makes it searching faster. I have to highlight something and then wait for links?

Shouldnt contextual search be totally automatic?

  2. Reader's Write Says:

It would be ‘on-the-fly’ however, you still have to highlight or type something in. How is that on the fly. All these companies keep pushing out products in beta that just aren’t ready. i wish they would just settle down. If they keep it up, the underdogs are going to take over.
