p2pnet back online
p2pnet view P2P:- Hi all:
p2pnet was down for several hours, late yesterday — but this time it was just an ordinary server power supply malfunction.
I was up early, today, even for me (2:15 am Pacific) because I couldn’t sleep. I thought it was another DDOS attack.
For some reason some people seem to think it’s their ‘right’ to say whatever they want on p2pnet, and I’m obliged to let them.
Ain’t gonna happen.
If you have a view you really want to air, feel free to post and 99.9 times out of a hundred, it’ll stay online. But there are no guarantees and if I delete, I do it because I have — in my opinion — good reason.
I say that because I was hopping on and offline for a good part of yesterday knocking down repeat posts from this guy who’d been spamming the most recent Spam Trap roundup.
Wrong. And anyone who doesn’t like that and who feels they’ve had their ‘rights’ trampled on, phk off and start your own site.
Which brings me to the real point of this post.
A little later you’ll see a new ad — for Dad’s Westcoast Wildfire Awesome Sauce.
If you look at the box on the immediate right you’ll see the amount which has come in for March was $269.91. And $250 of that came in one hit.
To digress, “I think p2pnet has a place now more than ever, especially with ACTA and so on”, I just emailed Cliff Haerden, my host at multibox.be over in Belgium, expressing relief that yesterday’s down time was because of a hardware failure, not another DDOS attack.
A bit presumptuous? Like what possible difference can p2pnet make in the scheme of things?
By itself, not a lot, perhaps. But if it’s part of a general movement, it can be significant. Which is why I’m determined to keep it going, even if I have to ease up on the number and frequency of posts.
In February I almost shut the site down. But it’s still here.
But my wife and I have to pay the mortgage, etc, and our revenues from the site have pretty well dried up. So we decided it was time for something completely different. And Dad’s Westcoast Wildfire Awesome Sauce is it.
Here’s what I say on the site — once again hosted by my mate, Cliff >>>
Dad’s Westcoast Wildfire Awesome Sauce is like no other.
After years of trying hot, but not tasty, tasty, but not hot, sauces, we decided to blend our own.
Dad’s Westcoast Wildfire Awesome Sauce is the result — a Eureka moment!
A delicious fusion of sun-dried tomatoes, Balsamic vinegar, garlic and seasonings and fresh peppers (including Habanero for that lip-tingling zing), it tantalises taste buds other sauces miss.
It’s not East Indian. It’s not Thai. Or Chinese. It’s not Mexican.
It’s just awesome. ![]()
And it is, even if I do say so myself. heh
We’ll be selling it at open air markets here on Vancouver Island, where we live. And so on. And we’ll be trying to get something happening via our Awesome Sauce blog, which’ll also carry items related to chilis and other hot stuff.
Not only but also, my wife, Liz, is a gardening nut and she’s come up with special gardener’s T-Shirt which I’ll also advertise here, when she’s ready.
For the first time in history, thanks to the net, ordinary people can do end-runs around the traditional lamescream press corpse which has been feeding us bullshit for so long.
p2pnet is part of that.
So stay tuned.
Cheers! And all the best …
Jon

Keep on keeping it positive Jon, as you seem to have found out anyone can sit by feeling sorry for themselves , it takes someone special to fight the odds life throws out, excellent idea with the sauce and looking forward to seeing other innovations that allow for you to make a living while defending free speech and informing those who are concerned with orwellian rhetoric.

@ The Troll:
Hot sauces are sold on eBay, for example, and lots of other places online, for shipment by mail and other means.
I know you’re frustrated because I won’t let you post whatever you want on p2pnet, but leave it alone, mate. I’ve outed one troll already.
You could be next.
Cheers!

From the look of your comment you have deleted a spam or two. Yes, there is even a special section for hot sauce on eBay. I just looked
And appropriately, you can also buy Spam (the real one) on eBay.
Also, you can now add Germany to the countries you can send Awesome Sauce too.

Hot Sauce is a good little niche. You either like them or you don’t. There really isn’t an in-between on that.
And if you do like hot-sauces, store bought dumbed down mass market stuff doesn’t even come close to the real deal.
I’ll be placing an order for a couple to add to my collection. And I do have a collection I pull out when I have hot sauce friendly people, like myself, come over. I treat them like a fine bottle of wine. Which when you come down to it, it is what they are to hot-sauce loving people.
Great little niche Jon. Can’t wait. Now I need to plan a special hot sauce meal around that hot sauce lol. I’ll pull out my stock and compare them.

“store bought dumbed down mass market stuff doesn’t even come close to the real deal”
Exactly.
Our Awesome Sauce will kick — well, you know. heh
Cheers!

Jon, you are awesome.

Glad to see you’re trying different things Jon. You never know what will be the magic one that does it.
For years I’ve been using a sauce that provides HOT. As in a drop or so per pot of food. Unless you are sitting next to a fire hydrant it’s not smart to try drop per plate. That’s what I use it for, is for the kick of fire it adds to the food. I let the rest of the food flavors provide taste. In many ways, it’s just what I’ve sought rather than a tasty but no fire sauce.
I am in no way discouraging you from giving it a shot. I hope it does you proud into something you can turn into a living. It’s hard enough now a days to just keep your head above water, so to say.
Here’s to hoping it’s all you could wish for.

@ RW: Above.
I know what you mean and I, too, have a deadly one-hit wonder. But sometimes (often?) I like punch and flavour, especially with bangers, burgers, and so on.
Cheers!

Is it possible for me to order this sauce online? ‘Cause if so, I’d be glad to order some for me and my relatives and to keep this site going.

You’re getting trolls about hot sauce? Since when did that become controversial? (Other than, is this stuff really hot or not type of debate). BTW I think the heat vs flavor is because people tend to want to douse food with something flavorful, which you can do up to a certain point when it comes to hot sauce, but with the one drop and you are burning up type of stuff, it’s s little hard to do that with. I’m guessing you struck a balance, hotter than average, but maybe not the stuff where after one drop it’s time to call the fire dept.

Flavour does beat heat I think. Peanut butter is my hot sauce limit.

Ha Ha, Bangers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bangers_and_mash
I see shelves and shelves of hot sauce in Canadian supermarkets; now I’m Canadian too, perhaps I should learn your secret… what do you do with it? Even the Wikipedia page manages to include a great depth of knowledge on the subject of hot sauces – except what it’s for.

Then there’s flavour AND heat.
Cheers!
