Snarf-It - The Resurrection of SuprNova.org

SuprNova.org, the site that used to be a mighty titan within file sharing, and known as THE source for .torrent files, which allow for downloading files via BitTorrent has crumbled at it’s owner’s lack of good judgement. SuprNova’s owner, Andrej Preston, has sold out P2P. He has made a deal with a company called Swarm Systems to make a decentralized BitTorrent network, which would remove the potential legal problems over copyright infridgements he could get because he was the owner of the site. He moved the legal liability over to the users of the network. They also included CyDoor, one of the most notorious and well known producers of spyware into the client. The network and client are known as eXeem. I’m sure you’ve all heard of it.
Newbies worship it like it’s a god, and experienced file sharers diss it for the crap (excuse my language) it is. eXeem has caused lots of “flame wars”(debates with colorful word choises) on SuprNova’s forums, between the ignorant newbies and the more experienced users.
SuprNova’s forums aren’t owned by Andrej Preston however. They are owned by a person who goes by the nick ‘FD’. After a number of days with nothing more happening on the forums than flame wars regarding eXeem, FD said enough is enough. All discussion regarding eXeem was disallowed. SuprNovaForums have broken all bonds [with] SuprNova and eXeem. There are now no connections whatsoever between the two sites.
SuprNovaForums still have over 280,000 registered members, very many of which were avid file releasers on SuprNova.org.
Andrej having closed SuprNova in order to gain money through eXeem (CyDoor), those releasers lacked a place to release their files, and the other members lacked a place to get files. The solution was simple.
Make a replacement for SuprNova. And that’s exactly what they did.
They have created a new torrent indexing site, called Snarf-It. It can be found on www.snarf-it.org.

The site was still not opened when Joe wrote the story.
It is now. And having only been active for less than a day, they already got 348 releases. That’s pretty damn fast in my opinion. I have a feeling that this site is going to flourish and become a superpower within P2P fast. Kudos to SuprNovaForums for this site. I think they will successfully resurrect SuprNova, without the disease that SuprNova had, that is Andrej Preston.
