I never heard anything that was simultaneously so underthought and so overthought. Paul performed big hit songs that everyone would want to hear. Besides, ‘Drive My Car’ is not about materialism per se, as much it’s about using materialism as a last-ditch effort to find love, the real goal. If ‘Get Back’ were about homosexuals, it would be AGAINST them (”Get back to where you once belong”), so wouldn’t that be FOR George W. Bush? And I think ‘Live And Let Die’ would only be anti-war if it were called ‘Live And Let Live’. Plus, how did you ever come to believe that ‘Hey Jude’ was a Lennon song? It’s THAT silly kind of misunderstanding that inspired Paul to credit all his Beatles songs as ‘McCartney-Lennon’.

After 41 years I wonder how many people will even remenber the names of today’s so called pop artists let alone have them performing at a superbowl ?????? Can you see Brittnay preforming at a superbowl 41 years from now along with her Sagging breast and fat butt????? Paul was looking and sounding good for a fellow his age “63″

Apparently a lot of people, including myself, enjoyed McCartney and the half-time show. Perhaps that’s just not interesting enough for the media. “People Enjoy Superbowl Haltime Show” doesn’t sell many papers.

Am I the only one who perceived a bit of a snub at GWB? You Can Drive My Car is materialistic, Get Back is about homosexuals, and Live and Let Die is about war. Finally, to end it, Sir Paul gave us John Lennon’s Hey Jude, which is happy and optimistic. Think about the enormous number of songs at his disposal, and then question why he choose the ones he did. The first three seemed to criticize America today, and only at the end did we get the famous McCartney optimistic and light. His selections sent a message, I think.

Perhaps the Detroit News report on the Super Bowl halftime show didn’t understand the performance; it’s call style. Glad to see someone finally got the word…and sent last years producers back to college until their minds and faces clear up.

I would have been glad to have PAID to witness this half-time show!!! This was like seeing a free concert by one of the 4 kings of our time. At 62, Paul not only looked great (we should all look so good at age 62), but his voice was flawless! The price of admission to those who attended Super Bowl XXXIX was more than a bargain! At the party I attended, there were people there who stated that they were getting chills while watching and listening to Sir Paul. I concur! Unbelievable!!!!

I was glad to see McCartney at the half time show. Finally, something wholesome, good, talented music for us to enjoy… and also safe for your kids to see. Pretty sad when you can’t let your kids watch the Superbowl half time show because of stupid antics like last year.

I think the show was entertaining and well done. The lighting on the stage was awesome and the songs he chose were great. I think that people should just get over the entire Jackson incident and appriciate great music.

How exciting was the half time show? Paul McCartney still has it and shame, shame, on those who say it was boring. The entertainment he has provided over the years and then the Super Bowl surpassed any I have seen in years. Is anyone saying anything about the pre-show disaster?
What a combination of no talent that was on, singing off key and hardly in rythym.

I only wish I could have seen Paul in person.
Those young critics that were speaking to Solidad in the am are hardly the people that should be critisising a great music talent
such as Paul McCartney. How he looks (as the young person said
saying he looks like Angela Lansbury )has nothing to do with his
musical ability.

Truly these young people have very little knowlege of what Paul and the rest of the Beatles have provided to the world, both musical and global contributions which will never be seen again.

Truly these young people need to think before they speak.
