Girl, 12, arrested after Iraq protest
p2pnet view Freedom | P2P:- Frankie Hughes (left) was arrested for trespassing, on Wednesday, when she allegedly refused to leave US senator Tom Harkin’s (right) office in Des Moines.
Frankie, who’s only 12, was protesting the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, says the Des Moines Register.
Then Thursday morning her mother, Renee Lynn Espeland, 49, who was standing outside Harkin’s office at the time, was also “ticketed for contributing to the delinquency of a minor”, says the story.
Police say Espeland “knowingly encouraged and contributed to her daughter’s arrest”, it says, adding:
“Within an hour of being ticketed on Thursday, Espeland was at Nollen Plaza, holding a war protest sign and handing out leaflets demanding an end to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.”

“Within an hour of being ticketed on Thursday, Espeland was at Nollen Plaza, holding a war protest sign and handing out leaflets demanding an end to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.”
And how does she propose that should be done? I know, she probably thinks that once the US and other countries remove their military forces from Iraq, everyone will join hands, exchange flowers and the whole country will erupt into blissful peace. Yeah, right!
There would be a civil war, the elected government would be dead by the end of the week and they’d end up with some dictator in charge who would probably be just as bad as Saddam. The whole country is a house of cards that’s barely standing as it is. Knock out the lower-level support and what happens to the rest?
April 9th, 2010 at 2:13 pm
^^ There would not be a civil war had the US not invaded in the first place!

The problem is that once a criminal president started an illegal war in Iraq you have to finish it. The Afgan war might be more justified but again it will take a while to stop it as well.
You can not just leave. We know that Obama is working hard to stop it and we have to be patient.
This being say I admired this 12 years old kid for her courage and her caring regardless of what the law say about ocupying a governor office.
A lot of adults should take a lesson from her in not being a coward and stand for what you believe.

I don’t think the first RW realizes anything about the puppet in place now.
I don’t think the first RW realizes or read anything about who Saddam is, his backers, who sold him weapons and chemicals to kill the kurds (this includes the “sprayers” that attach to the US helicopters sold to Saddam).
I don’t think the first RW realizes who backed who in the Iran-Iraq wars.
I don’t think the first RW realizes Saddam was more scary as a type of Fidel rallying the arab nations who have, and so far, remain separated and not united.
I don’t think the first RW knows how Saddam tried to change the oil currency away from American dollars.
Normally when people toss in the Saddam stuff, they tend to be pretty clueless about their own countries involvement way before the invasion.
All this is, is a footstep into Iran & to try and prevent a united Arab nation. US will have a perm military base in Iraq now. Takes away the reliance on Saudi Arabia who was kicking them out during the first US-Iraq conflict.
And the Brits? They want their Iranian oil back that they lost during the Iranian revolution.

“I don’t think the first RW realizes. . . .”
I know all of these stuff and more I know stuff you don’t know about who is doing what and why. This does not just affect the US. If you want a clue have a look at the mega corporations.
Obama like others presidents before him Republicans and democrats have to navigate their way around all these craps.
Bush and Cheney turned criminals because they went along with these corporate pressure instead of resisting it.
The solution is simple but not easy to implement:
DESTROY THE MEGA CORPORATIONS AND PUT THEIR EXECUTIVES TO JAIL!
April 9th, 2010 at 7:41 pm
no. you may want to read up on Cheney. Or better yet, Email the CBC for info instead of the “kill mega corp crap”.
April 9th, 2010 at 10:45 pm
Bush and Cheney need to go to jail.
I insist on killing the mega corp starting with the big banks and the oil companies.
This is where all the shit is coming from.

That is right . Saddam was a pain in the ass to every american president since Ronald Reagan. If you remember correctly the US tried
to be neutral in the the Iran Iraq war in 1988 but George H. bush finally backed Saddam . If you also remember correctly There was
the Iran contra scandal in which the the Reagan administation tried to exchange weapons for hostages and they got butt fucked….
You remember Ollie North? The shitball Marine ? Honestly i am a federal employee attached to the Marine Corps and most of those
ignoramus jarheads thought Shithead George W. bush was jesus when he invaded Iraq in 2003 for a bunch of fuckups who never actually

State Department spokesman Crowley slams Teheran’s announcement of new centrifuges.

The United States overnight Friday slammed Iran’s earlier announcement of technological advances in its nuclear program, saying it proves Teheran’s “nefarious intentions.”
State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley made the statement hours after the Islamic Republic announced that it successfully tested a third generation of domestically built centrifuges, which, it claims, can accelerate a uranium enrichment by up to six times.

Russia: Iran should start negotiating
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared there was no way back for Iran’s nuclear work despite opposition from the United States and other world powers, though he insisted it had only peaceful aims like power generation.
Iran would remain a nuclear state, he said, “whether enemies want it or not.”
But Ahmadinejad continues to claim Iran’s nuclear program is strictly for peaceful purposes.
Israel, the United States and European Union countries suspect Iran is attempting to build a nuclear bomb.

The solution to the middle east problem – Put a nuclear bomb in the center of each city. Something huge, and bolted to the ground so that there’s no way it can be moved. Next to each one, put a big, red detonator button. Then sit back and wait. I give it maybe a week before there’s nothing left of the middle east except a smoking crater.
