Boston subway users get Wi-Fi
p2pnet.net News:- Boston commuters will soon be able to use their mobiles and PDAS at four city subway stations.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation has signed a 15-year contract with InSite to provide Wi-Fi service at the Park Street, Downtown Crossing, Government Center and State Street stations as well as the tunnels that connect them, says the Associated Press.
The stations are all within a half-mile radius and are among the busiest in the system, and the service will eventually expand to other stations.
The service is slated to start by this fall

This is wonderful news for the commuter set.
But wi-fi is only part of the story, cellie signals are also planned.
What’s next? Why not AM/FM repeaters?
Part of me, however, likes the idea of getting away from all the RF by going underground.
