US to adopt electronic ID cards
p2pnet.net News:- On the heels of protests from California parents over compulsory Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags for their children, the US House of Representatives has approved rules aimed at compelling all adults to use federally approved “machine readable” ID cards, including driver’s licenses.
“Machine readable” is a frequently used euphemism for electronic RFID spy chips.
“The Administration supports the provisions in H.R. 418 to strengthen the standards for issuance of drivers’ licenses,” says a statement from US president George W. Bush’s executive office, going on:
“The Administration will work with Congress to clarify the definition of ‘official purpose’ for which licenses or identification cards may be accepted by Federal agencies.
“The Administration will work with Congress to consider providing authority to the Secretary of Homeland Security to ensure individuals with licenses or identification cards that do not meet the full criteria in this bill could not use these documents to access non-Federal critical infrastructure or to operate certain large vehicles. The Administration will also work with Congress to consider biometric screening of individuals who cannot otherwise satisfactorily demonstrate citizenship or lawful immigration status. Biometric screening, which is applied to most entering classes of aliens through the US-VISIT program, would be a valuable tool in identifying possible links to terrorism.”
States would be required to, “demand proof of the person’s Social Security number and confirm that number with the Social Security Administration,” says a ZDNet report. “They would also have to scan in documents showing the person’s date of birth and immigration status, and create a massive store “so that the (scanned) images can be retained in electronic storage in a transferable format” permanently.
“Another portion of the bill says that states would be required to link their DMV databases if they wished to receive federal funds. Among the information that must be shared: All data fields printed on drivers’ licenses and identification cards, and complete drivers’ histories, including motor vehicle violations, suspensions and points on licenses.”
It’s a very short step from ID cards that have to be presented to be read, to cards able to autoomatically send information to data ‘collection’ stations as people pass by them.
Mexico’s attorney general Rafael Macedo de la Concha has a RFID spy chip embedded in his arm, as do people in his office.
As an interesting aside, the US Department of Defense is currently presiding over an RFID summit in Washington, DC.

Mark of the Beast? I don’t know.
I do know that all Democrats and Especially Republicans are interested in is making merchandise out of all of us. In order to protect our freedom and our very well being, we really need to stop voting Democrat or Republican.
BOTH PARTIES ARE GUILTY IN THEIR OWN WAY OF USURPING OUR RIGHTS!!!

I know that the so-called realists out there say that a vote for non dem. or rep. is a vote for the opposition. As far as I can tell, it no longer matters which main party we vote for. One way or another the party in control is going to take away more of our freedom. Plain and simple, if you vote for either Democrat or Republican, you are voting to remove our freedoms.

Quite frankley, I’m supprised that they didn’t try this sooner. I would have thought that RFID would be manditory after the US Park / Game Service used it on migrating animals.

well, I suppose we are all animals inthe end (some moreso than others, eh RIAA/MPAA?)…
…but c’mon your statement puts humanity on the same level as migratory animals.

Sounds like you guys are Anarchists. Questioning THE STATE, huh? Traitors!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just joking. Actually, questioning things IS your patriotic duty. Those who would not fight for their freedom or liberty deserve neither freedom or liberty.
The encroaching New World Order is upon you. Orwell’s 1984…

During the LA riots, I made the comment that in the long run the country would take one of two paths: the first was kind of an anarchy and dissolution into small competitive groups that carried on internicine (?) warfare, physically and politically. Congress today? The other path would be a tightly controlled, semi-police state, perhaps one similar to that of “1984.” The Patriot Act? Implanted ID chips? Either may take decades to develop, but I feel that we may be on one path or another, and I am not quite sure which one it is. What I missed was the dominance of corporations and lawyers taking over everything. Well, maybe two our of three isn’t too bad.
