Second MPAA BiTtorrent site

p2pnet.net News:- YOU CAN SUE BUT YOU CAN’T CATCH EVERYONE

A parody based on the Big Seven movie studios’ hi-jack of the former LokiTorrent BT site nicely sums the situation up.

In movie industry lexicon, marketing and enforcement are one and the latest sales ploy is to use attacks on BT sites as a weapon to drive former customers into channels only they supply and control.

Never happen, though.

Things have gone too far. As the numbers of people sharing files increases, obviously, the chances of an individual becoming a victim are also decreasing exponentially. And people know it.

“There are websites that provide tethered downloads,” it goes on, but, “We’re not fooled.”

Cory Higgins couldn’t have said it better himself.

“This website has been erected out of consumer outcry over the passing of sites that facilitate the free availability of perpetually copyrighted motion pictures,” goes the mock MPAA page.

“The unauthorized downloading of motion pictures denies thousands of dishonest, lazy executives of their crack smoking livelihood, and is the only way to bring an artistically bankrupt monopoly under control. “Downloading movies without authorization violates laws distorted beyond their original intent, is not tangible theft, and is impossible to stop.

“You can’t catch everyone.

“The only way to win is to stop waging war on your own customers and accept the fact that we are in control, not you. You brought this on yourselves.”

    It does for me …

    Cheers!

  3. Reader's Write Says:

    It worked for me.

  4. Reader's Write Says:

Haha, nice find, I love it. :)

  5. Reader's Write Says:

the site works fine. Try going to it again…it may have been unavailable at the time you checked. Also, make sure that you don’t have any parental style filters turned on (the site does contain some profanity…understandably enough).
If after trying both of these, you still can’t view the page…then you should contact your ISP and verify whether or not they are censoring your right to view webpages…some ISP’s have in fact been bought off by the MPAA/RIAA to cooperate with their efforts.
Consider whether or not your ISP is owned by a parent company or organization that is either directly or indirectly owned and controlled by the MPAA/RIAA. (i.e.: AOL is owned by Time/Warner which is directly involved with the MPAA, so if you use AOL to access the internet…then you may be being censored).

  6. Reader's Write Says:

These idiots must have a serious death wish.

This whole situation is getting way beyond reasonable, and it’s the greedy executives with the MPAA that are going to find out the hard way just how serious it’s getting. They need to consider the state of the world we live in and just how many people out there are deciding to take matters into their own hands and deal with their problems themselves…PERMANENTLY. They don’t seem to want to realize the power of the ever-increasing rage that they are perpetuating, and they are severely outnumbered. Sooner or later, we are going to be hearing about these arrogant jackasses on the late afternoon news. It will likely go something like this:

…Earlier today a (person, not gender specific) walked into the headquarters of the Motion Picture Association of America, pulled out a gun, and opened fire, killing numerous people including MPAA executives before shouting out “This is for the freedom of the people!” and then turned the gun on themself. …

or “…This just in, a large explosion has just been reported outside of (any major production studio) killing and/or severely injuring many people. Details at this point are sketchy, but a group calling themselves (some radical group name against corporate tyranny or something like that), has taken responsibility and has vowed to strike again until the MPAA stops persecuting the very people who have for years paid their wages and made them rich…”

Now, this is just an example…not to be taken literally as a planned action…but, it could happen regardless of how extreme it may seem. The MPAA is representing themselves in the very light that terrorists all over the world have been harping about for years…as greedy capitalist devils who will stop at nothing to crush and supress the people’s freedom’s. The U.S. Government, by itself is already severely hated and viewed as capitalist demons by the fundamentalist religious extremists that are responsible for terrorism worldwide. It now appears that the MPAA/RIAA is just itching to experience for themselves, this same kind of hatred and the often deadly results that it brings. They are adding to an already hostile problem that the U.S. is currently trying to deal with, by further making it appear that Americans are greedy, self-serving, pompous, and arrogant…which is true ONLY for a small percentage of the population. Perhaps the U.S. Government ought to step in and consider the representation that the MPAA is giving it, in the eyes of other countries and their constituancy…if it is in fact so concerned with how it appears to outsiders.

An interesting point to keep in mind:
Is this really a “new” and “increasing” problem? or has it actually been going on since back in the 70’s when people first had the opportunity and ability to copy material and share it, and would take their records, share them with friends and copy them to reel-to-reel or 8-track tapes.
Why is it that in the past 5 years or so, that this issue has suddenly become such a “BIG” problem for the industry? They were losing the same percentage of money to copyright infringement back then, as they are now…especially when you keep in mind the rate of inflation, and it wasn’t such a “BIG” problem back then…the only difference is that now, they have the electronic means to keep track of everything via the internet. I believe that they found out that they could be making a few bucks more by launching a campaign, witchhunt, or crusade to stop something that they never had control of in the first place. They can no more stop illegal copying than they could stop the sun from shining. They clearly have a much higher opinion of their own abilities than what is real, and since they too are living in a delusional world of their own, they should be able to recognize the kind of person who would carry out what i mentioned in the beginning of this. Alot of these notions are being fed to them by equally greedy, bloodthirsty lawyers who are just looking to make a name for themselves by prosecuting a high profile case. of course, they’ll probably never read this anyway, since they already know everything. That is why i place it here, because i don’t want them to know the truth, they don’t deserve the luxury of our protection anymore, especially when they start indiscriminately threatening, attacking, and further jeopardizing the safety and security of the very people who gave them that protection in the first place… because arrogance only learns from the school of hard knocks…and it’s high time that they got knocked…hard! So, when that day finally comes, I will be saying “yep, i knew this would happen” and i will sit back and laugh it up…because i for one think they deserve whatever happens to them.

    XD exactly!

I dont wanna sound evil, but I wish that something like those attacks on MPAA headquarters would happen!!

That webiste is on Bluetack’s IP blocklist for some reason. Blocked by the IP range for ‘Genuity’. I have asked on their forum about it in order to clarify.

I for one do not buy cartel music any more. I refuse to. Before this sue them all campaign, I did buy CD’s, but I believe that governments and cartels should not be the only ones to dish out fines. Yes I still listen to some RIAA music (but not the radio) but it is music obtained from the Internet, wireless LAN’s, or the Sneakernet. I hereby fine the movie and music cartels $400 per year.

Ripped iso’s from rental DVD’s that fit on an average writable DVD (4.7 GB) are very popular on a local wireless LAN in my area. The quality is the same as it was when the movie was rented. Instead of travelling to the video rental store, all one has to do in my area is park near a certain apartment complex, fire up the laptop and browse to http://my.movies (no this is not available on the Internet), pick a flick, and download it. This LAN also accepts ISO uploads (the owner will rip the uplaoded iso if needed). For the price of a blank DVD and a bit of time, one can have a new flick.

This arrogant attitude of the cartels is unacceptable and must be punished. Since Congress refuses to make reasonable copyright laws, “We The People” must do it for them. I fileshare all the time, but I do not always do it on the Internet. Local LAN’s and Sneakernets rule! Set one up in your area.

ok just a thought here .. i agree that this attack everyone attitude by the mpaa is stupid but we are slandering them for protecting their product thtas like the the people stealing direct tv being mad that dave wants its money or if you made a product and was selling it but dsomeone else is reproducing it and selling it and not paying you this is stupid… i enjoy gettin movies and apps and mp3s but lets be reasonable dont get mad cause wqe are getting caught if you think that the reason you download movies is “they charge unfair prices for movies and use unfair practices” you are full oof it you download cause its free and you can just like everyone else. its ok to think that they suck and want to get them back abit but dont hide your crimes behind some blanket of crap come out and say it I LIKE TO STEAL MOVIES and we always find a better way to do it but come on “reasonable copyright” “they dont sell what we are downloading” gimme a break … they do sell it its just part of their marketing stratigy if you cant wait till they sell it your stealing plain and simple.. and anyone who says other wise is playing a game of samantics or just assinine and as for the same format freakin whiners buy the dvd when it comes out and re-encode it if ya want to be legal but for those of you that are happy with breaking the law like me just dont complain when they shut sites down and make the idol threats about comin after you cause it just isnt fealsble for them to come after individuals (only hosters of large arrays of movies) or for us to complain that they want to get paid for their product

  11. Reader's Write Says:

    Speak for yourself,

Not everyone is mad because of one torrent site being taken down…especially considering it wasn’t the only one available, and still isn’t. The thing that is pissing everyone off is the idea that these “corporate” types, who already have a bad name in recent years due to other companies pulling a bunch of underhanded crap, yanking everyone’s chain with a bunch of concocted bull about why they are losing money. DO YOUR HOMEWORK…they are the ones that are slandering the general user public by claiming that we are all responsible for their monetary losses. They have been making baseless accusations for the past few years and essentially hitting below the belt with some pretty lame, cheap shots at people.
They claim that they have lost close to 3 Billion dollars to illegal downloads…and yet they can’t prove any of it on paper…and admit such. They claim that “legal” alternatives are readily available online for what “they” call “reasonable” prices….also, untrue. Anyone that has tried to find certain older movies, or even the newest movies, are often disappointed to not be able to find them on any “legal” site, because those sites are being directly controlled by the MPAA. They also, have been caught trying to manipulate the market and fool the public by releasing material a few weeks earlier in European contries and then trying to censor/silence critical reviews about it…especially if it was bad, so the American public doesn’t know any better and will still spend millions on their crap production before anyone can realize just how bad it was. In some circumstances, that could be construed as blatant fraud…which is a crime in itself. The consumer public should have a right to review, in a reduced capacity, any product that it intends to spend it’s money on before making that purchase. But the MPAA/RIAA has clearly been manipulating with kickbacks and bribes, so they’ll just look the other way.
They are attempting to censor what people see and hear, and they do not in fact hold complete title and control over all materials that they possess, and they buy off businesses to show only what they want…so you watch only what they want you to. They clearly believe that they control the popular style and status of this country and yes, even the world, when the truth is, that they only influence it through their products.
If anyone was concerned about being caught and/or where they were getting their next freebie online, then they would most likely be stating so, and/or wouldn’t be online anymore while they relocate. Nobody is really concerned about that…it’s a given risk that is involved with downloading this kind of stuff.
Nobody likes the fact that the MPAA/RIAA is manipulating the U.S. government to extend copyrights beyond what they reasonably should be.
Nobody likes being told what to watch or listen to, and having their options reduced in stores by some powerhungry dictatorship company, who just wants to force their new product down your throat.
Nobody likes being directly or indirectly threatened by a non-government official, who has absolutely NO RIGHTS to be trying to enforce the law, just for even visiting a site that offers supposedly illegal downloads.
Nobody likes the fact that the MPAA/RIAA had the outright audacity to openly petition the government for the right to commit electronic computer crimes against ANYONE that it percieves as a threat to it’s bottom line, without proof in a court of law first, and without any kind of government oversight.
Nobody likes a U.S. based corporation thinking that they have a right to tell non-U.S. citizens in other countries what to do.
    and finally…
Nobody likes a smartass corporation that does what they did on the lokitorrent site…it reveals a juvenile mentallity that is no better than the hackers who have attacked them in the past…and they are claiming to be “professionals”

Bottom line…they need to get their own house in order first, before going out telling everyone else about their’s!

It’s actually kind a of interesting how this Corporation known as the MPAA, isn’t currently being investigated like Microsoft was for being a monopoly. They are basically pulling the same damned crap that microsoft was, both in their contracting through outlet and sales stores, as well as their legal threats. Don’t think that’s so? then tell me who their competition is…hmm, interesting isn’t it?
The only reason that they are likely getting away with it is a minor loophole in the legal system that refuses to recognize the MPAA as a single controlling entity of a company, because it is made up of up to 7 or more major or minor companies that all openly claim that they are separate from each other and are in direct competition with each other…and yet, we often see where these same companies are often in collaboration with each other on big money projects (movies)…and they all answer to the MPAA in some way or another. What this sounds like to me, is a single parent “super-company” that has (like most major corporations) some internally competing divisions…but is still normally viewed as a single entity within itself.
So, once again…why aren’t they being investigated for being a monopoly, and/or being broken up by the government like has happened so many times in the past?

People don’t like the MPAA/RIAA for the same reason that they don’t like Microsoft…they use sneaky and underhanded tactics which assumes the public as mindless morons, they petition the government to alter and/or outright change laws without the public’s approval first, They lie about their business practices, they steal other people’s works and then squash their complaints with bribes and lawyers, They’re genrally viewed as being corrupt, and they are in fact too damned big now whcih is contrary to the way we do business in this country which allows for equal and free opportunity to conduct business and do trade. (anyone trying to get into a movie business eventually has to go through the MPAA or it gets bought out in a hostile takeover)

It’s time the people and the government woke up and got back on the clock regarding this problem.

  12. Reader's Write Says:

One of the big seven movie production companies is apparently being sued by the maker of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy on something like 18 counts. Apparently, New Line Cinema (subsidiary of Time-Warner) is being sued for deliberately withholding profits made off of the first movie, which by the way topped over $500 Million (and they are concerned about losing money!)…as well as presenting a locked contract to the producer, denying him of his fair share of the profits.
On top of it, they apparently are presenting exclusive contracts to subsidiary companies only for the resale of DVD’s and the sort, and pushing the price tags higher than they were supposed to be.

This whole thing has just proven what people have been saying about the companies that make up the MPAA.

It’s about time for the government to stop taking the shady backroom payoffs and do their damned jobs. The MPAA is corrupt and is pulling some of the same crap that Microsoft was pulling…trying to monopolize the market. The government needs to break this holier than thou bunch of scumbags up once and for all…unless they don’t like their jobs…in which case we can all just elect someone else who will take care of it.
