Benefits? WHAT !%$*#ING BENEFITS? I work for a band that is fighting with our label over this shit right now. We don't want it. Our fans don't want it either.---You can listen to our CD as long as you install this spyware---Bull$#!*.

Lot of good it does, Velvet's tracks were all over Kazaa the day the album cam out.

The only ones benefiting from this shit is the shady sales people selling junk like this to the gullible record companies.

You can't prevent anyone to access a cd and rip it on their computer.
At most you can try to trick people into installing malware on their computer to stop themselves.

Even on windows you just need to disable cd autorun.
To do that in win98 put the following in a .reg file and double click it.

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"CDRAutoRun"=dword:000000ff
"NoDriveTypeAutoRun"=dword:000000ff

So, unless you plan on using a cd that needs a new cd player to play it there's no way it would work.
A new player wouldn't go well much with custumers.

Definately at this time anyone can rip a cd. Then again in our system anyone can commit a crime. Sunncomm has never said it had the complete answer. However there are many other benefits from the Mediamax system now in place. The Labels are intelligent enough to understand this and Sunncomm has an ongoing technological program that keeps up to date with any new improvements.

Stay tuned Sunncomm is a winner.
