Jan Wahl to Jack Valenti:
"What’s all this woe-is-me garbage from mainstream Hollywood about film piracy?" - asks Jan Wahl in the San Francisco Examiner here
You want movie piracy? - she enquires. Then, "Consider the parent with a young child watching bloody horror movie trailers before a PG-rated film. How about sitting through commercials for 20 minutes before a movie? And when someone is noisy or rude in a theater or the film is out of focus or so loud its distorted, there’s nobody to complain to who cares.
"Multiplexes make it easy to find movies aimed at 12-year-old boys, but it’s almost impossible to find movies for the rest of us on their multi-screens. Popcorn and drinks are more expensive than the price of admission, which will soon go up to $10 a ticket.
" ‘Billy Elliot’ and ‘Kill Bill — Vol. 1′ have the same rating from a totally corrupt ratings board. That mysterious board is working for the very people that they’re supposed to be monitoring.
"And who feels pirated?! Kiss my movie-lovin’ behind, Jack Valenti! Pirate this!"
