50 Cents’ The Massacre online
p2pnet.net News:- The Massacre, rapper 50 Cent’s newest effort, went online before being released in retail outlets, writes Cory Higgins on P2PForums.
It’s been ripped in high quality VRB mp3 format and can be tracked down by BitTorrent, “and via Edonkey or Emule with the ED2K link,” says Higgins, going on:
“It’s being reported that Interscope is planning to release the album five days early to help combat this leak. “If they where smart, one would think they would make the album available via download at their legal sites like iTunes, as soon as they learn of an online leak. That way their customers are at least offered a legal alternative to “stealing” the album.”
But if it’s not available for purchase, “how is it considered stealing to download it for free?” – asks Higgins in an argument he’s raised before.
“This is far from the first big album to fall to an early online leak of late. Eminem, U2, and Greenday all say their newest mega hit albums show up on the net before being available in stores.”

This is Proof positive that insiders in the music biz are doing the leaking!!!!!! Your john q public has no way of pulling this off!!!!!! So where does the problem really lie??????

Radio stations get copies of music days/weeks before the public – when this happens it can only be them or the label themselves releasing the music…. testing the water for mediocre ‘artists’ music to see if they should even bother burning them to cd for stores….
I’m sure he’s got a market with teenage kids – but that’s about it.. whoopty doo…
Nice advertising stunt though 50cent! lol I’m sure it’ll increase cd sales by getting news time advertising on tv stations nationally / globally.
Just my 10 cents,
