Prophet Mohammed Facebook online

p2pnet view P2P:- “Pakistanis outraged with Facebook over ‘blasphemous’ caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed have created a spin-off networking site that they dream can connect the world’s 1.6 billion Muslims”, says Agence France-Presse.

“A group of six young IT professionals from Lahore, the cultural and entertainment capital of Pakistan, launched www.millatfacebook.com on Tuesday for Muslims to interact online and protest against blasphemy”, it says, going on:

“The private venture came after a Pakistani court ordered a block on Facebook until May 31, following deep offence over an ‘Everyone Draw Mohammed Day’ page considered ‘blasphemous’ and ‘sacrilegious’.”

p2pnet tried to even the playing field with our very own Fa$ebook Everybody Draw Jesus as a Hamburger Day group.

Sadly, at last reckoning, only 11 people had signed up. :sigh:

But why not a special Prophet Mohammed FB site?

Mark Zuckerberg probably likes the idea. 8-)

And there’s already an Australian Catholic Facebook.

“The Urdu word ‘Millat’ is used by Muslims to refer to their nation”, says Agence France-Presse. “The website claims to have attracted 4,300 members in the last three days — mostly English-speaking Pakistanis in their 20s.”

ahhhh always disturbing to be reminded that a large majority of the population still believe in spirits, ghosts, heaven, hell, and other assorted non-sense fairy-tales. Will we ever get out of this intellectual stone-age? I also place blame on those who don’t believe in these things YET will still tolerate and appease the fools that do.

Respecting people’s “beliefs” is one of the most harmful things you can do for society. How about if people go around saying 3+5=9, will you respect that too? Then maybe one day that person can be your pharmacist filling your prescriptions, or the radiologist configuring the xray machine.

Respecting someone’s belief in magical spirits is harmful to society. People who believe in such things should be openly mocked and ridiculed for the fools they are. These people wallow in stupidity and vote in authoritarian maniacs because the maniacs know how to appease and manipulate them based on their stupid belief systems.

The funny thing is, it is in the interest of authoritarian regimes the world over to promote these archaic religions, because it KEEPS THE PEOPLE DUMB and easy to manipulate. The upper classes and castes don’t believe in any of this crap, they are all athiest (yet they don’t announce it), and they know it is a way to maintain their power over the ‘little people’. Study history, especially feudalism, for a look into how this all works.

@RW people believe because it comforts them. Humans need one another. We, as a species, need to be around other humans and we require social interaction. We also feel we are alone, despite many being around us. We are also easily upset and quick to leave one another, leaving the person feeling more alone than before.

The result? Religion. People want control, morals, a guidework that society can follow and hopefully live in peace. How to sell this, as the “law” and “state” often feel so controlling and people don’t feel freedom? The way to sell it is that “God” or whomever the supreme being is, is always loving and always supportive, who never gives up on you no matter what you do wrong, who is always there to help you through the rough times, and will NEVER LEAVE YOU ALONE!

The problem, people followed, so devoutly that others noticed and decided “hmm… OK they don’t want control through a ‘state’ then we’ll gain control through religion.”

Hence wars and genocide. Something devised to help people make it through and provide a framework for society to live in peace and harmony is used and abused for control, the very thing it was intended to protect against.

Then again, religion could have simply been used for control all along, in a clever ploy, but I hope it was the former, created so people don’t feel alone. Of course people created it themselves and those feeling lost and lonely saw the people not feeling lost and lonely and followed them in their beliefs, which in turn helped them to not feel lost and alone. Hence it spread.

As long as these people can protest in a civil, nonviolent manner, I respect their right to do so. So many people don’t seem to realize that EDMD wasn’t an attack on Islam, it was a demonstration to defend free speech against fear-mongering terrorists.

Nothing like sticking your head in the sand and pretending that the rest of the world doesn’t exist.

“bigots Christian want us to believe”? So it’s some Christian conspiracy?

Protip: Add yourself to the mixture.

Those who have hollow faith , and those faith do not support with Fact / Logic and reasons involve in such gimmick to divert the attention of the race whose commandment given to mankind way back still hold testimony to fact , logic and reason , and still prevalent and relevant in today world and world to come
