Now, “According to one of the Hong Kong English newspaper report, the Chinese Government and authorities request all press media in China to use the official news from Xinhua when they report Foxconn suicide case”, says MIC Gadget Guide, going on:
“All news website have to remove all special reports on Foxconn and major forums are requested to delete related posts, and no new post is allowed to go public. So at the moment, major press media in China are only allowed to republish the news from three sources, Xinhua News Agency which is owned by the Government, the Government Press Release and Foxconn’s own statement.”
The public “will think that the Chinese Government is helping Foxconn to cover up”, saysthe story, adding:
“The Chinese Government is expertise on internet censorship, but they can’t stop other international media to report the issue, especially news from Hong Kong and Taiwan. As more censorship is applied to Foxconn news, more rumors will just fly-off. We like to see the truth behind the Foxconn incident, not just turning the whole issue to political affairs.”
Says China state news agency Xinhua >>>
Foxconn makes computers, game consoles and mobile phones for companies including Apple, Nokia, Hewlett-Packard, and Sony.
Foxconn epitomizes China’s traditional export-driven development pattern: investment and cheap labor combining to produce low value-added products.
Processing trade accounts for 50 percent of China’s total trade volume, and it contributes much to the nation’s trade surplus. But it is at the low end of the world production chain.
Foxconn is the biggest manufacturer of Apple’s iPad.
The U.S. market research firm iSuppli has estimates the material cost of the low-end version of the iPad is around 260 U.S. dollars, far less than its retail price of 499 U.S. dollars.
The display panel, supplied by LG Display and the most expensive part of the iPad, is priced at 65 U.S. dollars while the device’s manufacturing cost is 9 U.S dollars, according to iSuppli.
Apple takes the lion’s share of the profits with design, while the company of the Republic of Korea makes a big profit with its patented technology. But the mainland-based companies manufacturing it make comparatively little.
Worse still, as these products are shipped from China to the United States, China cops the blame for America’s ballooning trade deficit.
Meanwhile, Foxconn says it’ll raise Foxconn workers’ salaries by 20%, according to MIC Gadget Guide.

Isn’t it great when the gov’t and the corporations cooperate? That’s because the same caste is involved in both. So when a corporation has a problem, they just ring up their gov’t cronies for the solution.
This happens in EVERY country, which is why it is best to strictly limit gov’t power since they ALWAYS end up being the enforcement wing of major corporations. Just like the entertainment cartels in the land of the free and home of the brave can get draconian laws passed and judges to legislate from the bench (Grokster).
If you think Canada is any better, take note of the upcoming copyright bill and how the public consultation was COMPLETELY ignored in it’s making. By the people and for the people, RIGHT?

Yeah, I would like to know what is going on there. To blame anyone right now in my view right now is quite foolish, seeing that we don’t know a lot right now. I would also like to know, as probably many others would, why are these people going to work for theese factories? Are they being forced to? What’s going on. Any ideas? I suspect not, but please someone prove me wrong.
