Trivial Pursuit co-founder Chris Haney dies

p2pnet view Games:- In 1979 Canadian journalists Chris Haney (left) and Scott Abbott (right) started a new game which almost instantly went viral.

It was called Trivial Pursuit.

Once a photo editor at the Montreal Gazette, Haney died yesterday after a long illness at the age of 59.

Abbott was a Canadian Press sports editor.

As of 2004[update], nearly 88 million games had been sold in 26 countries and 17 languages, says the Wikipedia.

One Response to “Trivial Pursuit co-founder Chris Haney dies”

  1. Anonymous Says:

Hard to believe that it’s already been 2 years since Dungeons & Dragons inventor Gary Gygax died. D&D and Trivial Pursuit were the two “modern” games I remember it seemed just about everyone was playing when I was growing up.

Does anyone know what Chris Haney died from? It seems that whenever someone relatively young dies from an unspecified “long illness” it’s often Aids.
