Philanthropy? If you put it in the context of how much money he has, it is said that it is the equivalent to the rest of us giving $2 per year to a charity.

If you look closely at where he is giving money it is often into areas of pharmaceutical research for which there will be patents. Then there is money to put “computers” (running what?) into schools?

Whether this is philanthropy or tax-deductible empire building is a topic worthy of debate. Wish I had the time to debate it, but I’m spending a fair chunk of my work day on advocacy work already.
