Ex-MPAA boss Glickman’s new new job
p2pnet view MPAA:- Dan ‘The Joker’ Glickman, who recently left his job as the front man for Hollywood’s MPAA under less the favourable circumstances, is on the move again.
Seen here with the ghost of his predecessor, Jack Valenti (right), Glickman took a new job as head of Refugees International.
“Mr. Glickman brings to RI a long history of public service, fighting hunger and helping underserved people in the U.S. and around the world,” said the organisation.
Fighting hunger and helping underserved people in the US and around the world? Glickman?
Anyway, not any more.
Continuing his downward spiral, he’s now a “senior fellow in residence” at the Bipartisan Policy Center “founded by former Senator and presidential candidate Bob Dole of Kansas, along with former Sens. Howard Baker and Tom Daschle”, says the Kansas Star.
“Glickman told the Washington Post that org ‘needs a full-time total commitment’ and that ‘it was probably not a perfect fit for me’,” says Variety.
Stay tuned? Not?

It should come as no surprise that Dan Glickman would become a lobbyist again. Although they try to present themselves as a kind of academic research institution, those Washington DC “think tanks” are in reality a covert form of lobbying. They hire Washington insiders and are funded by special interests which they’re not required to disclose. They like to give everyone a title (such as “senior fellow”) to suggest these people are in tenured academic positions, but the other primary function of a ‘think tank’ is to serve as a holding pen for policy-wonks waiting to get appointed to cabinet and administration positions. Part of the revolving door that clouds any distinction between those who (supposedly) serve the public and those who work for private interests.
There is now pressure to (further) expand the federal bureaucracy to protect the copyright industry. Dan Glickman seems on track to end up in a prominent position there.

@RW “nice language idiot…”
If you mean me (The first RW) when the earthquake hit, please accept my apologies. I was pretty much a ball of nerves and very much shaken up.
Please excuse my language.

@(The Shaken Up) RW:
I see no reason to apologize.
“Language” has never been a concern in this forum.
Stronger language is used even in the main posts, than what you’ve exhibited.
…And, you’re certainly not required to live up to the “standards” expected by anyone else, especially the likes of people such as the “other RW”, who decide to launch instant personal attacks, which ISN’T ACCEPTABLE here.

“nice language idiot…” Fuck off douche. The guy went through an earth quake and your shitting on him for bad words? Go back to church and stuff your head up your ass if you can’t handle George Carlin’s seven words.
As for Glickman, there is indeed a perfect job for him. Somewhere out there are hookers in need of a good pimp.
