Google Desktop Search V 1.0
p2pnet.net News:- When Google’s Desktop Search beta was released last October, it raised serious privacy and security concerns.
That’s because it has direct access to users’ computers.
But not to worry because “many” of these concerns are addressed in the official release of Google Desktop Search V 1.0, says SearchEngineWatch, going on:
“The program now indexes the full text of PDF files stored on your computer, as well as the meta-information stored with music, image and video files. Google Desktop is now also compatible with the Firefox and Netscape browsers as well as Internet Explorer, and is available in English, Chinese and Korean language interfaces.”
Google is also providing a developers’ API (application programming interface) so the application can index the long tail of applications and file types.
