France to get ‘terrorist’ dbase
p2pnet.net News:- Starting in May, French citizens will be able to access to an online database of possible "terrorist" acts against French targets and their country’s interests around the world.
But they won’t be able to tap data, “shielded by confidentiality required for legal investigations or by national security,” says Agence France-Presse.
"Strategic expert Francois Heisbourg, tasked with piloting the project, said the data bank aimed to provide the public with a body of ‘good-quality information on manifestations and perpetrators of terrorism, so that a public debate can occur on the basis of a common frame of reference’," says AFP.
The dbase will be on the Strategic Research Foundation and French interior ministry web sites.
