Commwarrior.A vs Nokia

p2pnet.net News:- F-Secure has updated its description of what’s now Commwarrior.A and which, said research director Mikko Hypponen recently, “can potentially go global in minutes, just like email worms”.

Either he’s right or the mainstream media is doing its job for it because the Commwarrior.A threat was top of the pile on Google’s main news page at 5:38 am Pacific, today.

“When Commwarrior infects a phone it will start searching other phones that in can reach over Bluetooth and send infected SIS files to the phones it finds,” says the F-Secure update.

The SIS files it sends have random file names, meaning users can’t be warned to avoid files with a given tag.

And as well spreading over Bluetooth, Comwarrior.A can also ‘read’ users’ local address book for phone numbers to enable it to send MMS messages containing the Commwarrior.A SIS file.

It comes with:

  • CommWarrior v1.0 (c) 2005 by e10d0r
  • ATMOS03KAMA HEAT!

‘Atmoso3kama Heat” apparently translates ropuighly from Russian into, “No to braindeads”.
