Nintendo’s Wi-Fi Revolution

p2pnet.net News :- If looks count for anything – and they do: ask Apple – Nintendo’s new ‘Revolution’ console has a lot going for it.

Put that together with the fact it’s offering free Wi-Fi by the end of the year and the fact Nintendo also has Puppy-Power, and you need say no more.

“Nintendo DS: Iwata announced that the Wi-Fi protocol for Nintendo DS will provide users with a link to other players across the country or around the world,” it says.

“Once the service begins later this year, Nintendo DS users will be able to connect to the service wirelessly at Wi-Fi hot spots, whether they’re at home, in a hotel or at a coffee shop. As one of several Wi-Fi games, Nintendo’s in-house development team is creating a new Animal Crossing game for global Wi-Fi play.”

Speaking at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said IBM’s “Broadway” chip will supply the Revolution console with processing power and ATI’s “Hollywood” graphic’s chip will work alongside it, according to GameCube Europe.

The mobile will also be backward-compatible with the GameCube.

Iwata also demonstration a pair of Nintendo DS software titles he says represented entertainment that goes beyond traditionally accepted definitions of video games.

One represents a direct threat to Fido, Rover and Spot.

Nintendogs, “asks owners to nurture and interact with a variety of breeds of digital puppies,” says the company.

“Puppy owners can issue voice commands, play games and train their puppies while developing real emotional bonds with them. Nintendogs is set to launch later this year in North America.”

“The second title, Electroplankton, offers an otherworldly array of sights and sounds aimed to soothe or stimulate players with the innovative use of both the touch screen and voice interaction.

“This is designed to produce harmony, not adrenaline,” Iwata said.

Now you know.

Great! Just more clutter for the Internet. Why don’t you boys play with Bluetooth and leave the Internet for real use and not kiddie cartoon playing. No wonder you can’t read.
