Bourne Music shoots down girl’s hospice video
p2pnet view P2P:- On the right is an evil looking copyright thief, if ever there was one.
It’s Bethany Hare, aged 10, “dressed up like the legendary comic to star in her own video tribute”, says the Daily Mail.
Singing the song ‘Smile’, the homemade video was posted on the JustGiving website to raise funds for a children’s hospice.
But New York-based Bourne Music, which owns the rights to the song, “insisted Bethany had to remove the harmless clip”, says the story.
Not to worry, though.
“After her mother Yvonne wrote to explain the background to the Chaplin video, the publishers said they could keep the song online for one year —-
—- as long as they paid a $2,000 (£1,300) fee and a further $250 (£165) every time she performed the song in public.”
Bethany, who goes to stage school and has worked as an extra, has had to remove the words and music and run the video as a ’silent movie’ instead.
She’s “has so far managed to raise £1,800 for Martin House Children’s Hospice”, says the story.
“Martin House Hospice care for Children and Young People with progressive life limiting illnesses, and provide support to their families”, says the organisation’s web site.
“We are based in our purpose built hospice in Boston Spa, Wetherby and care for children and young people from throughout the Yorkshire region.”

Even in the face of selflessness, these companies never fail to show their ugly faces and ruin it for those who have good intentions.

Per this scumbag companies website:

We are always searching for new revenue streams and attacking 10-yr old kids to the tune of 2000$ + $250 +… is not beneath them.
