Blackberry hoists AOL AIM flag

p2pnet.net News:- AOL, which has literally turned your privacy into a marketable commodity, says Research In Motion (RIM has joined its Mobile Developer Program (MDP) “in order to support the popular mobile AOL Instant Messenger services on the BlackBerrywireless platform”.

But you no longer have any right to privacy if you use AOL AIM software downloaded on or after February 5 last year.

AOL has always been something of a pariah and now, by, “posting Content on an AIM Product, you grant AOL, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, assigns, agents and licensees the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide right to reproduce, display, perform, distribute, adapt and promote this Content in any medium,” it says.

“You waive any right to privacy.

“You waive any right to inspect or approve uses of the Content or to be compensated for any such uses.”

BlackBerry may regret linking its name to AOL’s.

  1. Reader's Write Says:

It’s very important that this aim representative’s letter be posted prominently, and that questions be asked.

Just as the little guy shouldn’t be allowed to fall victim to the corporation, the corporation should not be able to fall victim to the little guy.

The validity of the blogosphere depends upon proper examination.
