iPod Shuffle clone maker responds

p2pnet.net News:- The western media have been all over LuxPro’s Super Shuffle, an Apple iPod Shuffle doppleganger.

LuxPro, based in Taiwan, not only uses advertising copy identical to Apple’s, it also had the gall to launch its player at at the CeBit technology show in Germany where Steve & Co are also showing off the original.

So here’s an item from Taipei’s DigiNews:

“Luxpro displayed its Super Shuffle MP3 player at CeBIT and drew concern from Apple for its similarities with the Apple-made iPod shuffle. According to an interview conducted by the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN, Luxpro said that although their product may look like the iPod shuffle, it differs internally and includes an FM radio and voice recorder. Luxpro’s Chairman Fu-Ching Wu told EDN that patents do not cover appearance.”

Patents do not cover appearance, eh?

Stay tuned.

does the super shuffle have a sigmatel chip like the shuffle? If so , does it sound the same and internally have the same chip?

  2. Reader's Write Says:

I would buy that ripoff of the shuffle anyday over the iPod Shuffle. The features alone set the two apart.

you probably also shop in the generic isle of the grocery store and flea markets.

Mmmm….interesting observation! Ever looked at the ingredients on the back of a ‘generic’ brand? Same stuff, Sherlock.

and you probably think a VW and a BMW are both ‘just’ automobiles. If you can’t apprecaite the difference, you are clueless anyway.
